Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) is a common heart condition characterized by an irregular and often rapid heart rate. This can lead to poor blood flow and an increased risk of stroke, heart failure, and other heart-related complications.
The "Get Smart About AFib" initiative provides comprehensive information on Atrial Fibrillation (AF), including its causes, symptoms, and treatment options. It offers resources for patients to understand their condition, manage their symptoms, and prepare for doctor visits. The site includes patient stories, support groups, and educational videos to help those affected by AF. The campaign is aimed at audiences in the EMEA region and is published by Biosense Webster Johnson & Johnson MedTech, Belgium.
The client highlighted a significant lack of awareness about Atrial Fibrillation (AFib), noting that many people tend to ignore its symptoms. AFib can silently progress and suddenly start affecting an individual's health, often being mistaken for a heart attack. However, with proper awareness of its symptoms, AFib can be effectively managed and treated. Our task was to create an awareness campaign specifically targeting the Middle East region to educate the public about AFib and its symptoms, encouraging early detection and treatment.
Agency's Approach
To raise awareness about AFib, our agency crafted eye-catching visuals designed to grab public attention and spark curiosity. The goal was to encourage viewers to read the posters and visit the website if they found the information relatable. The visuals were meticulously designed to communicate key messages quickly and effectively, ensuring viewers could grasp the content without needing to spend much time decoding it. This approach was intended to maximize engagement and awareness.
My Role
As the Art Director for the campaign, I was responsible for overseeing the visual style of the campaign. I guided the 3D designer in developing the imagery and created the layout designs for the posters. My role involved ensuring that the visual elements were cohesive, engaging, and aligned with the campaign's objectives of clear and impactful communication.
